Sparta Library

Sparta  |  Wisconsin

February 17, 2025

Americon Construction was contracted to handle a remodeling and addition project for the City of Sparta, at the Sparta Free Library.

This project adds nearly 9,000 square feet of additional space, which nearly doubles the size of the building’s footprint.  The addition has two stories, with children’s area on the lower level, while all else is on the 2nd floor.  Fundraising efforts through public and private sources have raised approximately 1.2 million dollars.

The additional space provides opportunities for people to come in, hang out, meet with a group of friends, or even hold an interview in the media room.

The Sparta Library was built in 1902, and in 1981 it was added to the US National Registry of Historic Places.  This is the second addition to the facility, as previously one expansion took place in 1982.

Americon Construction is a Design-Build construction firm located in Tomah, serving West-Central Wisconsin.  For more information about Americon, please visit AmericonConstructionCo.com, or call 608-377-7201.
